[Opening – Greeting and Acknowledgement]
Good morning, everyone.
It’s an honour to stand here today, as part of this collective mission on World Hypertension Day 2025. I extend warm greetings on behalf of SayPro’s Technology Division, and I thank each of you — our partners, healthcare workers, educators, and innovators — for being here and being part of the solution.
The theme this year, “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer,” speaks directly to the role of technology in modern healthcare. At SayPro, we believe that when innovation is done right, it becomes a bridge — connecting knowledge with action, access with equity, and data with life-saving decisions.
[Technology’s Role in Tackling Hypertension]
Hypertension may be a silent killer, but our response must be loud, visible, and digital.
In an era where mobile phones are more accessible than medical clinics, we must ask: How can we use technology to make prevention and care more immediate, more intelligent, and more inclusive?
As Chief Technology Officer, I can tell you — this is not just possible, it’s happening.
At SayPro, we are using technology to reach further, diagnose faster, and educate wider than ever before.
[What SayPro Is Doing with Technology]
This year, we’ve built and launched several key tools to support hypertension prevention and control:
- Our Digital Health Education Toolkit, accessible via mobile and offline apps, delivers blood pressure awareness content in local languages with interactive features.
- We’ve piloted AI-powered SMS check-ins to remind community members to monitor their blood pressure regularly and follow up with healthcare providers.
- Our Community Health Dashboard gives real-time insights into screening numbers, high-risk areas, and referral trends — helping teams deploy resources where they’re needed most.
- And our collaboration with local tech partners means we’re integrating digital blood pressure monitors and wearable tech into community health settings, bridging the gap between self-care and professional care.
This is how we turn technology into a tool for transformation — not just innovation for the sake of it, but innovation with impact.
[Bringing the Future to the People]
The future of health is connected, personalised, and predictive — and SayPro is building that future right here in Africa.
But technology only matters if it reaches the people who need it most. That’s why our approach is grounded in user-friendly design, local relevance, and accessibility — even in low-connectivity areas.
Whether it’s a young student using our mobile health quiz in a township, or a grandmother in a rural area getting automated reminders to check her blood pressure, this is what meaningful digital health looks like.
[Call to Action – Build and Innovate for Impact]
So today, I call on fellow technologists, innovators, and health professionals:
- Let’s build solutions that are simple, scalable, and human-centred.
- Let’s ensure our technology serves the people — not the other way around.
- Let’s work together to close the digital divide in healthcare — because health information should not be a privilege, but a right.
And to everyone in our communities — use the tools. Ask questions. Engage with our platforms. Your phone could literally be the device that saves your life.
[Closing – Technology with Heart]
At SayPro, we see technology not just as code or gadgets — but as a companion to care.
A partner in prevention. A force for equity.
As we commemorate World Hypertension Day 2025, let us remember that it is not enough to raise awareness — we must build the tools that turn awareness into action.
Thank you to all our partners, developers, health workers, and end users who make this mission real.
Let’s measure smartly. Let’s innovate boldly. Let’s live longer — together.
Happy World Hypertension Day.
