“Hello, SayPro community, partners, and the young voices of South Africa.
Today, we mark Freedom Day 2025 — 31 years since our first democratic election, a moment that gave birth to the South Africa we live in today.
But as we reflect on the legacy of 1994, we must also ask:
Are we truly free, if we don’t understand the realities of those we serve?
As the Chief Research Officer at SayPro, I work at the intersection of truth, evidence, and transformation. Because while slogans can inspire, it is data that drives decisions. It is research that uncovers injustice. And it is insight that helps us build a future grounded in reality — not assumptions.
Freedom, in 2025, is not just about remembering where we came from.
It’s about measuring where we are — and understanding where we need to go.
At SayPro, our research isn’t just about numbers. It’s about narratives:
📊 We study youth unemployment — not as a statistic, but as a struggle.
📚 We analyze skills gaps — not to impress, but to intervene.
📣 We listen to the voices of young people — because no policy is complete without their truth.
Our freedom is only real when it is informed.
Only when we understand the challenges can we deliver real change.
Only when we measure impact can we claim progress.
To the young people of South Africa:
You are not just research subjects. You are the authors of new knowledge.
Your voices, your lived realities, and your dreams are data that must be heard.
To our partners: thank you for helping us turn findings into funding, insight into action, and reports into results.
And to everyone watching:
Let’s remember, Freedom is not just a feeling.
It’s something we must document, protect, and build — with honesty, evidence, and courage.
Happy Freedom Day. May our future be informed, inclusive, and free — for all.
Thank you.”
