Today, we celebrate Freedom Day 2025 — a day that commemorates South Africa’s first democratic elections, a turning point where justice and dignity finally found a place in our nation’s Constitution.
As the Chief Legal Officer of SayPro, I stand not only as a legal professional but as a custodian of the freedoms that so many sacrificed for — freedoms we are now responsible for protecting, defending, and expanding.
Because let’s be honest:
Freedom doesn’t protect itself.
It requires strong laws.
It requires just systems.
And it requires leaders and institutions — like SayPro — who are committed to fairness, equity, and accountability.
So, what does freedom mean to us today — in real terms?
